The Director of Sports, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Mr. ‘Bayo Oluwatoki, has predicted success at the end of the Staff Unity Games.
Mr. Oluwatoki stated this after the opening football match of the Games, between the College of Environmental Resources Management (COLERM) and College of Veterinary Medicine (COLVET).
He said it was an interesting development, seeing the University’s staff coming out en-mass for the match, noting that the turn-out was encouraging and impressive and a manifestation of the full backing of the Professor Olusola Oyewole – led Management towards the Staff Unity Games.
The Sports’ Director added that it was obvious that the Games will end on a good note because members of staff had come to understand the rationale behind it, as not a ‘do-or-die affair’.
“It is on a high side that the Games will be successful and its objectives will be achieved by identifying new talents”, he noted.
He encouraged more staff to come out and participate in the remaining matches, regardless of the level of participation by their teams.
“I encourage staff to keep the tempo high, not to relax but to strive to get to the top of the medals table, so that the primary objective of the Games will be achieved”, he said.
