AFOLABI Wasiu Akinloye O 

Short Profile

W.A.O Afolabi is a Professor of Community Nutrition in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and current Dean, College of Food Science and Human Ecology, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. He has over 60 publications including journal articles, conference proceedings and technical reports. He has 30 years’ experience in development research including 25 years post-secondary teaching experience. He was at a time the Acting Head of Department, Nutrition and Dietetics 2017 – 2018, the Deputy Dean, College of Food Science and Human Ecology, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta Ogun State, Nigeria in 2010 to 2014. He was the Senior Programme Officer for Nutrition (2005 – 2009) on the COMPASS/USAID project, Nigeria Country Programme Coordinator for Infant and Young Child Nutrition Project (2009 -2010). He has served as consultant to many organizations including the World Bank, UNICEF, BASICS II, Helen Keller International (HKI), Programme for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH), Iodine Global Network and Food Basket Foundation International. He has coordinated and participated in many training programmes, workshops and the development of many national policy documents and guidelines in nutrition. He is a Fellow and President, Nutrition Society of Nigeria.
