FUNAAB Concludes Financial Bidding for Unserviceable Vehicles, Other Items

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has successfully concluded the financial bidding process for unserviceable vehicles and other items. The exercise, which took place on March 26 and 27, 2025, covered a wide range of assets, including vehicles, tractors, agricultural equipment, computer items, and motorcycles.

Speaking on the process, the Chairman of the Board of Survey and a member of the Governing Council, Dr. Adeniyi Balogun, explained that the initiative was undertaken following the University Council’s directive to address the accumulation of unserviceable items on campus. He noted that the Board adhered strictly to all necessary regulations, ensuring due process was followed from the preliminary assessment to the final bidding stage.

Dr. Balogun said that the exercise was conducted fairly and transparently, with the dual objectives of generating revenue for the University and ensuring accountability. The bidding was open to participants from various University sub-units, Colleges, and the general public, reflecting a broad level of interest and competition.

The second day of the bidding also recorded significant success, with participants expressing satisfaction with the openness of the process. The event was monitored closely to ensure fairness, and stakeholders lauded the seamless execution of the exercise.

Among the notable University officials in attendance was the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Festus Adeosun; Dean of the College of Engineering (COLENG), Prof. Olawale Dairo; Head of Department, Animal Production and Health (APH), Prof. Lawrence Egbeyale; Secretary of the Board of Survey, Mr. Taiwo Ayegbe; and the Chairman of ASUU-UNAAB, Dr. Oluwagbemiga Adeleye.
