Short Profile

LAWAL Omoniyi Isiaq is an Associate Professor in the Department of Plant Physiology and Crop Production, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Nigeria. His area of specialization is Agronomy/Crop Nutrition with research interests in Organic Agriculture as it relate to management of Soil fertility, Crop nutrient uptake and utilization efficiency under different fertilizer application, plant physiology, crop production technology, the yam minisett technology, plantation crop establishment and management. He had his B.Sc. (Crop Science), M.Sc (Agronomy/Horticulture) and Ph.D degrees in 1997, 2000 and 2009, respectively from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He worked briefly as a research officer at the National Horticultural Research Institute 2005 - 2009. He worn the Visiting Research Fellowship (of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) Ibadan Nigeria) for Ph.D. degree; 2000 – 2009, a Visiting Research Scientist/Collaborating Scientist (IITA) Ibadan Nigeria (2009 till date) and a Collaborating Scientist with the National Horticultural Research Institute, 2009 till date. Other awards and scholarships to his credit include Asa Local Government Bursary Award for Secondary School Students and Kwara State Bursary Award for Students in Tertiary Institutions, Conference of All Muslim Organizations in Nigeria (CAMON) Scholarship award for Ph.D. students, 2003 -2006. He has a wide leadership experience in the professional and other associations where he belong and have been engaging in consultancy services involving soil fertility evaluation and land capability classification for crop production and establishment of arable and plantation crops since 1997. He has about 40 journal articles and 18 referred conference proceedings. He enjoys reading, travelling, visitation, playing table tennis and keeping abreast of happenings worldwide. He is happily married with prosperous children.
