The University Health Services’ mandate is to give qualitative healthcare to students, staff, staff dependants and members of the adjoining communities to the University. The Directorate oversees the environmental health of the institution and offers among other things, services like Family Planning; Free Health Counseling; Free Tuberculosis and Leprosy service; and has Voluntary Counseling and Testing Centre for HIV, where the test is conducted free among others.
The Health Services have continued to make clearly evident impact on the University Healthcare and environmental health, with attention on the students and staff, with a 24 hours coverage.
The hub of activity of the Health Services is located within the University Health Centre. It is the fourth structure located on the left-hand side of the Ceremonial road after leaving the University’s main gate. It has on its frontage the ambulance parked with other vehicles of the Directorate.
The Health Services have different Units within the Directorate among which are:

- Nursing Unit
- Medical Record Unit
- Pharmacy Unit
- Medical Social Work Unit
