113th Inaugural Lecture: PPSN Pays Courtesy Visit to VC

Earlier in the morning today, April 22, 2026, the Council of the Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria (PPSN), paid a Courtesy Visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, in solidarity with its President and the University’s 113th Inaugural Lecturer, Prof. Sam Olufemi Sam-Wobo.

Welcoming the high-powered delegation, the Vice-Chancellor described Prof. Sam-Wobo as a dedicated and active member of the University Community, commending his outstanding contributions in every capacity he has served.

Prof. Kehinde also congratulated members of the Society on their forthcoming 2026 conference scheduled to hold in October at FUNAAB. He reaffirmed the University’s full support for the event, noting that Management was committed to providing the necessary logistics and enabling environment for a successful hosting. He further disclosed that efforts were ongoing to secure full registration for the Department of Public Health ahead of the conference.

Speaking on behalf of the Society, the Vice-President I, Prof. Gideon Amuga, expressed appreciation to the University for the recognition and honour accorded to its members. He particularly lauded the Management’s readiness to host the forthcoming conference.

The visit culminated in the presentation of the PPSN Manual to the Vice-Chancellor by a former President of the Society, Prof. Martins Aisien.
