GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ACADEMIC POSITIONS

(i) Professor

Candidate should have Ph.D. in any of the areas of specialization where vacancy exists for the position as listed above, in addition to a good Bachelor and Masters degrees in the same discipline. He/she must have sufficient and relevant publications in reputable journals and referred conference proceedings with at least twelve (12) years post-qualification cognate experience in a University or related Institutions. In addition, the candidate must be registered with relevant professional body and be ready to provide evidence of academic leadership.

The Salary attached to this position is CONUASS 07 (N2,485,098.00 – N3,128,691.00)

(ii) Reader

Candidate should have Ph.D. in any of the areas of specialization where vacancy exists for the position as listed above, in addition to a good Bachelor and Masters degrees in the same discipline. He/she must have sufficient and relevant publications in reputable journals and referred conference proceedings with at least ten (10) years post-qualification cognate experience in a University or related Institutions. In addition, the candidate must be registered with relevant professional body and be ready to provide evidence of academic leadership.

The Salary attached to this position is CONUASS 06 (N2,053,124.00 – N2,684,096.00)

(iii) Senior Lecturer

Candidate should have Ph.D. in any of the areas of specialization where vacancy exists for the position as listed above, in addition to a good Bachelor and Masters degrees in the same discipline. He/she must have sufficient and relevant publications in reputable journals and referred conference proceedings with at least seven (7) years post-qualification cognate experience in a University or related Institutions. In addition, the candidate must be registered with relevant professional body and be ready to provide evidence of academic leadership.

The Salary attached to this position is CONUASS 05 (N1,653,414.96 – N2,348,298.96)

(iv) Lecturer I

Candidate should have Ph.D. in any of the areas of specialization where vacancy exists for the position as listed above, in addition to a good Bachelor and Masters degrees in the same discipline. He/she must have sufficient and relevant publications in reputable journals and referred conference proceedings with at least three (3) years post-qualification cognate experience in a University or related Institutions. In addition, the candidate must be registered with relevant professional body.

(v) Lecturer II

Candidate should have Ph.D. in any of the areas of specialization where vacancy exists for the position as listed above, in addition to a good Bachelor and Masters degrees in the relevant field. In addition, the candidate must be registered with relevant professional body.

(vi) Assistant Lecturer

Candidate should have a good Bachelor and Masters degrees in the relevant field where vacancy exists for the position as listed above.

(vii) Graduate Assistant

Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division in the relevant field where vacancy exists for the position as listed above, with evidence of commencement of Masters degree programme in the relevant field.

(viii) Librarian I

Candidate should possess a good honours Degree and the professional Masters Degree in Library and Information Science, with at least (3) years post-qualification cognate experience as a Librarian. The candidate must show evidence of substantial contribution to knowledge through research and publications in local and international library science journals.

(ix) Librarian II

Candidate should possess a good honours Degree and Masters in Library and Information Science from a recognized University.

Note:

For all positions in Departments of Accounting and Banking & Finance, professional qualifications in recognised professional bodies are essential. However, consideration may be given to these qualifications in lieu of Ph.D. in cognate disciplines.

NON-TEACHING STAFF

A. Director, Physical Planning (Contract of 5 Years) – (CONTISS 15)

Candidates should possess a good University degree in Architecture, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Estate Management, Building Technology, Town Planning, Land Surveying and must be registered with relevant professional body such as NSE, COREN, ARCON, etc. Candidate should have at least fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience with a minimum of five (5) years as Deputy Director in tertiary institution or other reputable organisation(s) or industry.

B. Director, ICTREC – (CONTISS 15)

Candidates should possess a good University degree in Computer Science, Informatics or related discipline and must be registered with relevant professional body such as CPN, ITAN, NCS, etc. Candidate should have at least fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience with a minimum of seven (7) years as Deputy Director in tertiary institution or other reputable organisation(s) or industry.

C. Director, Bursary – (CONTISS 15)

Candidates should possess a good honours degree in Accounting or its equivalent. A higher degree will be an added advantage. In addition, candidates should possess a professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, ICAN, ACMA, ACNA and ANAN with a minimum of fifteen (15) years relevant post-qualification experience, seven (7) of which must be as a Deputy Bursar/Deputy Director or equivalent post in a Tertiary Institution. Candidate must be computer literate.

D. Deputy Director (Registry) – (CONTISS 14)

Candidates should possess a good honours degree in Humanities/Social Sciences with at least twelve (12) years relevant post-qualification experience, five (5) of which must be as a Principal Assistant Registrar in a Federal University Tertiary Institution Administration. Candidate should also be registered with relevant professional bodies. A higher degree will be an added advantage. Candidate must be computer literate.

E. Deputy Director (Academic Planning) – (CONTISS 14)

Candidates should possess a good honours degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Economics or related discipline with at least twelve (12) years relevant post-qualification experience, five (5) of which must be as a Chief Planning Officer in a Federal University Tertiary Institution Administration. Candidate should also be registered with relevant professional bodies. A higher degree will be an added advantage. Candidate must be computer literate.
