The adrenaline kept flowing on Day Two of the 2025 Staff Unity Games as the football field turned into a battleground of determination, grit, and goals, setting the stage for an exhilarating quarterfinal lineup.

In the Registry vs COLPLANT (College of Plant Science and Crop Production) match, a clash to remember, the day kicked off with a nail-biting encounter between the Registry and COLPLANT teams. Registry drew first blood, igniting the crowd, but COLPLANT rallied with resilience to level the scores. With the full-time whistle unable to separate the sides, the match marched into a dramatic penalty shootout. In the end, COLPLANT held their nerve, edging out Registry 4–3 to punch their ticket to the quarterfinals.

The absence of COLENG (College of Engineering) and COLAMRUD (College of Agricultural Management and Rural Development) from their respective fixtures handed automatic victories to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office (VCO) and COLBIOS (College of Biosciences). Both teams progressed unchallenged, intensifying anticipation for their upcoming head-to-head quarterfinal battle. It was a no-show surprise as walkovers shook the bracket.

In the Bursary Department vs COLPHYS (College of Physical Sciences), it was a statement of victory as the day was closed out with flair and finesse, the Bursary Department delivered a commanding performance against COLPHYS. From whistle to whistle, they dominated the game, netting an emphatic 6–1 win and establishing themselves as strong contenders for the championship.

Meanwhile, more action on the horizon as the tournament heats up, fans could look forward to the following matchups tomorrow by noon:

🔹 Qualifying Fixtures

👉 COLERM vs COLFHEC

👉 Works and Services vs COLVET

👉 INHURD vs Postgraduate School (PG)

🔹 Quarterfinal Showdown

👉 VCO vs COLBIOS

Adding a new dimension to the competition, Board Games alongside all the Indoor Games, would also make their debut tomorrow, promising fun, mental agility, and friendly rivalry beyond the football pitch.

Staff and spectators alike are encouraged to come out in full force to cheer their colleagues, enjoy the camaraderie, and celebrate the spirit of unity that the Games are all about.
