The Construction Engineer of Nidave Construction and Industrial Venture Limited, Engineer Olowoniran Davies has disclosed that the 2,500-Capacity Auditorium was virtually ready for the 21st and 22nd Combined Convocation Ceremonies of the University.

Engineer Davies stated this during an inspection tour embarked upon by top officials of the University, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole, in preparations for the forthcoming convocation. According to him, the building had been adjudged by Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) to be the best structurally-stable building in FUNAAB.He noted that the beams of the building were increased significantly to prevent any incident of cracks on the walls, adding that the Waffle Floor that was used was unique. He further informed that an industrial borehole had been sunk to supply water to the building, which hasat least 48 toileting facilities and that necessary provision had already been made to increase these toilets to almost 60.

On electricity, he disclosed that bigger electrical panels were used to guarantee adequate electrical supply in the building that can comfortably seat between 5,000 and 6,000 people. The Construction Engineer said extra about 20-30 air-conditioners had been procured for the building, which contained five other halls of varying sizes, two mini-halls, basement hall and two cafeterias. Engineer Davies disclosed that plans were underway for the landscaping of car parks, as he commended the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oyewole, for his interest and commitment to completing all inherited projects in the University.
