The Vice Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako has charged members of the University Community to be more committed in prayers for the University, now and always.
The Vice-Chancellor made the charge during the Inter-denominational Church Service held at the University’s Chapel of Grace to usher in the just concluded 26th Convocation Ceremony of the University.
Professor Salako while addressing the Congregation described himself as not “The best of men and not the best of Christians”, and should not be seen as never infallible.
He charged all stakeholders in the FUNAAB Project never to rest on their oars, because the University just clocked 30 years.
Professor Salako further stressed that, “Some Universities in the world are over 200 years, at 30, we are just beginning.”
He appreciated all arms of the University for their commitment and most especially the students for the role they played in ensuring that the road leading to the University is motorable.
Speaking earlier, the Guest Preacher, Reverend Cannon Professor Isaac Aiyelaagbe felicitated with the University Management, Graduands, Parents and Guardians while delivering a Sermon titled, “The Dividends of Ignorance”.
He also appreciated the Founding Fathers and mothers of the University for their selfless service and sacrifices over the years, while he equally congratulated all other stakeholders, those that shared FUNAAB’s dream from the beginning and those that joined along the line to watch her grow.
Professor Aiyelaagbe charged all aforementioned, to acknowledge God in all their ways, as He (God) will directs our path in all we do.
He also charged the congregation to seek after knowledge, in order not to be destroyed for lack of it.
Welcoming all to the Service, the Chaplain, Professor Christian Ikeobi had earlier based his preaching on the reading from Psalm 133: 1 – 3, that says “How blessed is it for brothers to dwell together in unity”.
