Engr. Dr Samuel Oluyemi Owoeye is a highly skilled and committed academic professional with extensive experience in teaching and research within the realm of Mechatronics Engineering. He is a Senior Lecturer in Mechatronics Engineering at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. His educational background features a Master's degree and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, as well as a Bachelor's degree in the same discipline from the University of Ilorin. Additionally, he possesses a certificate in Webmastering and Interactive Visualization from the University of Gent in Belgium.
Engr. Owoeye has an impressive research portfolio, having secured multiple research grants from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund). His projects include the creation of cutting-edge technologies, such as a solar-powered smart egg incubator equipped with automated candling features, a quadruped surveillance robotic dog, a hexapod surveillance robot, a food serving robot, a robotic arm for educational purposes, and a seed planting robot, among others. He is a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria.
His dedication to academic excellence is demonstrated by a range of accolades, including the VLIR-OUS Fellowship awarded by the Belgian government in 2005. He won the Prof Nimbe Adedipe Award for the best graduating postgraduate student in Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta for the 2022/2023 academic session. With a strong focus on enhancing educational outcomes through research and community engagement, Engr. Owoeye is a valued member of the engineering community and a mentor to many engineering students having supervised more than 30 students.
