The Director of Academic Planning of the University, Professor Mufutau Adekojo Waheed, has disclosed that 32 out of the 34 academic programmes of the University had been fully accredited, while the remaining two, Electrical/Electronic and Civil Engineering, enjoy interim accreditation. He made this disclosure, while highlighting the roles of the Academic Planning Unit of the University in a chat with UNAAB Bulletin, in his office. Professor Waheed said the Unit was planning an internal mock accreditation, to facilitate good planning for the next visit by the National Universities Commission (NUC), for other rounds of accreditation, as some of the programmes in the eight Colleges of the University are due for re-accreditation. Speaking further, Professor Waheed said, the Unit also played key roles in accreditation by professional bodies such as the Council for the Registration of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) , the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN), among others. According to the Director, input from the Unit, based on the feedbacks it constantly received from staff and students, served as guide for the University authorities in making decisions on staff recruitment, training and provision of infrastructure.
