Prof. Olabisi Jayeolais a Professor in the Department of Accounting, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria. He obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc., M. Phil., and Ph.D in Management Accounting from ObafemiAwolowo University, Osun State; University of Lagos and Babcock University, Nigeria respectively. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN); Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI); Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (ANIM); Associate Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ACMA).
Prof. Olabisi had worked in both private and public sectors of the economy before switching over to the academic environment. This affords him of both industrial and public practice experience in basic accounting functions and techniques which has been combined with lecturing. He had lectured various accounting courses in many of Nigerian Universities on full time (Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, Ajayi Crowder University, Oyo and Redeemers’ University). His lecturing experience is over sixteen years at different levels within the University systems in Nigeria.
He has served and still serving as external examiner to many Nigerian Universities’ M.Sc. oral examinations such as Babcock University, Ogun State; Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State; Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife; South Western University and Crescent University, Abeokuta. Also, he is a Chief Examiner and Questions Reviewer for Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria; Assessor for Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN);Examiner for Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria; Reviewer for FUNAAB Journal of Humanities, Social Science and Creative Arts; Reviewer for UNIOSUN Journal of Accounting and Finance and Reviewer for Asian Economic and Financial Review Journal.
He has occupied different academic positions within the University system in Nigeria such as Departmental Examination Officer, Head of the Department of Accounting, Deputy Dean of the College and Acting Dean of the College. Prof. Olabisi’s area of specialization is management accounting, and is experienced in theoretical and practical aspects of accounting. Currently, he is teaching Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Oil & Gas Accounting and Research Methodology to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Finally, Prof. Olabisi has published more than sixty articles in learned journals (both local and foreign) and more importantly, he is happily married and blessed with three boys.
