AFTERMATH OF ASUU STRIKE Get Set for Exam – DSA Charges Students

The Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Babatunde Idowu has charged the University’s students to immediately pick-up their books and start revising or embark on serious reading, following the calling off of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) 3 months strike.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with FUNAAB Bulletin, Professor Idowu warned that students won’t have luxury of time between their return to campus and examination period.

He said it is most likely that the Semester examination will commence soon, moreso that they were about two weeks to the commencement of their examination before the strike.

According to him, “In my capacity as the Dean of Student Affairs, by the grace of God, I want to charge our students to pick-up their books and start revising or reading seriously for their exams because now that we have resumed, examinations are most likely to start very soon”.

“We were just two weeks to the exam before the strike. They will not have the luxury of say one month or thereabout before the commencement of their exam”, he added.

Speaking further, the Dean said it was expedient for the students to gear up for the examination because Second Semester is a decisive one that will add value to their GPA or otherwise, depending on their level of preparation.

However, Professor Idowu expressed the preparedness of his Unit towards students return, pointing our that during the strike the Unit was fully on ground and it has been discharging its duties.

It would be recalled that ASUU called off its prolonged strike on Friday, February 8, 2019.
