Lt. Victor Agunbiade, who was recently awarded a medal of commendation by the United States Navy for successfully managing the US$45 million kept in his care, was honoured by members of his alma mater; the Federal University of Abeokuta Alumni Association, USA Chapter. Lt. Agunbiade made this known in his Twitter page after receiving his award for meritorious service as the Disbursing Officer, Comptroller Department, Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti.
“Humbled to be honoured by your own! God bless Federal University of Abeokuta Alumni Association-USA Chapter!”; he stated while the medal has the inscription, “You are a Worthy Ambassador and We Are Very Proud of You.” Lt. Agunbiade had displayed a spirit of accountability by also managing an additional US$23 million with 100% accountability; after passing through six rigorous inspections and independent audits with zero discrepancies.
