Alumni Executives Pay Courtesy Visit to FUNAAB

The newly-elected Global President, of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Alumni Association, Mr. Bolaji Gbadamosi, along with other Executive Members, visited the Vice-Chancellor to convey their gratitude for the continuous support and understanding shown by the University Management towards the Alumni Association.

During the meeting, the Mr. Gbadamosi-led Global Executives expressed their appreciation and willingness to collaborate with the University.

Mr. Gbadamosi appreciated the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde for his unwavering support during the Association’s last convention, highlighting the Vice-Chancellor’s dedication to ensuring its success.

He assured Prof. Kehinde that the Alumni Association was committed to giving back to the University, particularly in the form of supporting tuition fees to nurture future generations of students.

Besides, Mr. Gbadamosi expressed the Association’s readiness to collaborate with the University in various endeavours, including initiatives aimed at promoting food security in the country.

He listed the plan to engage in farming and establish a farmers’ market for the benefit of the University community, urging the Vice-Chancellor to expedite the release of the requested land for this purpose.

According to him, “The Alumni Association has sought the assistance of corporate organisations in cultivating the farmland for the benefit of staff and students.”

Mr. Gbadamosi stressed the Association’s aspiration to elevate FUNAAB to become one of the best universities globally.

Responding, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, Prof. Kola Adebayo, who represented the Vice-Chancellor at the meeting, welcomed the Alumni Association and acknowledged their significant contributions to the University’s growth.

He assured them that all their requests and expressions of gratitude would be duly conveyed to the Vice-Chancellor.

Prof. Adebayo, therefore, congratulated the Alumni on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor on the success of their recent elections and convention, affirming that their ideas and appeals were valued and would be carefully considered by the University Management.

The visit also signified the strong bond between FUNAAB and its Alumni Association, and highlights their shared commitment to the advancement of the University and the broader community.
