A retired Medical Doctor from the University Health Services, Dr. Olusola Akinwande has called on members of staff while on active service to keep tab on retirees, in order to be abreast of their health and living conditions.
Dr. Akinwande who made this appeal during a send-forth party organized by the University Health Services for its retired members emphasized the importance of relating with one another while on active service and thereafter for mutual wellbeing.
In his Remarks, Pharmacist Afolabi Coker who represented the Director, Health Services, Dr. Abiodun Amusan appreciated the retirees for honouring the occasion which according to him has been postponed for many times because of Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking further, the Director said that the celebrants have served the University diligently, noting that the gathering was a celebration of love and relationship because all the staff under the Health Services have become more than a family over the years in the course of discharging their duties.
Lauding the celebrants, a Chief Nursing Officer, Mr. Raman Balogun said the celebrants have served excellently in their various capacities, describing the retirees as worthy personalities who are always willing and ready to discharge their duties when needed. He prayed for success in their endeavors
Responding on behalf of the celebrants, Dr. Akinwande appreciated staff of the Health Services for putting such a thoughtful event together in their honour and thanked God for making the day a reality.
He expressed delight at the sight of the newly completed Maternity Building which he described as a dream come true.
The celebrated retirees are Dr.Olusola Akinwande, Mrs. Modupe Odukoya, who retired as a Cleaner, and Mrs. Olufunmilola Adabo, who retired as a Chief Nursing Officer.
