The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Chapter of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) has urged university administrators to champion excellence, embrace transformation, and strategically position themselves to shape the future of higher education in Nigeria.
This charge was delivered, today, May 20, 2025, during an in-house lecture organised by ANUPA-FUNAAB, aimed at fostering intellectual engagement, professional development, and institutional advancement.

Delivering the keynote lecture titled “Leading Change for Excellent Service Delivery and Global Relevance,” the Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi, challenged members of ANUPA to serve as catalysts for change in university administration.
According to Dr. Adeniyi, “The role of an administrator is not merely about words, but about demonstrating value.” He identified five core values critical to administrative excellence: confidentiality, anonymity, neutrality, loyalty, and integrity. He stressed that fostering innovation and upholding these values can transform university registries into beacons of progress and relevance.

Dr. Adeniyi also called for a renewed approach to registry operations at FUNAAB, one that embodies hope and drives meaningful change. He urged administrators to embrace change and effective leadership, emphasising that one’s attitude is a powerful determinant of professional success. He concluded by encouraging staff, particularly administrators, to cultivate strong character as a foundation for personal growth and career advancement.
Earlier in the programme, the Deputy Registrar I, Academic Staff Establishment Unit, Mrs. Oluwakemi Banuso, delivered a presentation titled “Dress for Work: An Essential Aspect of Professional Administration.”
She highlighted the importance of appearance in shaping perceptions and credibility within the academic environment. Mrs. Banuso offered practical guidance on professional dressing, grooming, and appropriate accessorising, underscoring that one’s attire communicates values and professional identity.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of ANUPA-FUNAAB, Mr. Babatunde Ojoye, reiterated the association’s commitment to continuous learning and capacity building. He also shared encouraging news about the ongoing legislative process to establish the Chartered Institute of Nigerian University Professional Administrators, a move that promises to enhance the professional recognition and status of university administrators across the country.
