Kelvin Ashindorbe hails from Obudu in Cross River State, was born on the 13th of February 1975 in Kaduna State. He had both his primary, secondary and tertiary education in the city of Ibadan. He holds a bachelors and a master’s degree in political science and a master’s and PhD degrees in Peace and Conflicts Studies from the Institute for Peace and Strategic Studies, University of Ibadan. He also earned a post graduate diploma in Federalism, Decentralization and Conflict Resolution from the Institute of Federalism, University of Fribourg Switzerland.

His experience span working as a parliamentary assistant and then as a programme officer in a consulting firm engaged in peace building activism in volatile and conflict prone communities in the Niger Delta. He currently holds a faculty position at department of Communication and General Studies, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta. He previously taught at department of Political Science and International Relations, Chrisland University Abeokuta, where he also served as the Coordinator of the department and the General Studies Unit of the University. Since 2015, Dr. Ashindorbe has served as an external examiner, with the National Open University of Nigeria NOUN. His research interest focuses on Political Parties, multilevel government/state organisation, Governance/Development issues, conflict transformation and democracy; an area where he has published book chapters and articles in peer reviewed journals

He is passionate about knowledge acquisition and dissemination, that resolve has fired the determination in him to pursue a career in academics. Dr. Ashindorbe believes he is not in this world to merely make a living, he is here to enrich the world and he impoverishes himself if he forgets this mission.
