The Director, Biotechnology Centre of the University, Prof. Akinola Popoola, has described the immediate past Director of the Centre, Dr. Olusegun Obadina, as an achiever, a pacesetter and goal-getter, who has contributed immensely towards the growth of the Centre. Speaking during a get-together, organised by the Centre to appreciate the former Director, Prof. Popoola recalled that, “Dr. Obadina became the Director when things were not really moving in the Centre. He came in and started transforming things. He is a man, who believes that everything is achievable”.
Further commending the remarkable contributions of his predecessor, which he said was evident in the numerous achievements recorded by the Centre during his tenure, saying that “We are so proud of Dr. Obadina and for this, we will preach the Centre everywhere we go because we don’t want to be local champions, we want to be known and recognised globally”. Corroborating the Director, another staff, Mrs. Olajumoke Williams described Dr. Obadina as a peace-lover, who promoted peace among staff in the Centre, has a listening ear, and left a good legacy.
The Centre Accountant, Mrs. Lawale Adesola said, “Dr. Obadina is upright, kind, and very understanding, He is always at ease to work with his staff and runs an open-door policy”. Responding, Dr. Obadina gave God all the glory for what had been said about him. He appreciated the entire staff of the Centre for the cooperation, which made his job easier and also commended the former Director, Prof. Olufunmilayo Adebambo, and other past Directors for their timely support whenever they were called upon.
