… As the Bursary Department Commences New Year with Prayer

The Bursar of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Mr. Olukayode Osinuga, has called on the staff of the Bursary Department to focus on proffering solutions to challenges as the Department embarks on a fresh year of activities.
Mr. Osinuga made this call during the 2025 New Year Prayer and General Meeting of the Bursary Department, held on January 8, 2025. The event was organised to reflect on the tasks ahead and offer gratitude to God for His guidance and blessings.
Speaking on the theme, “Teach and Guide Us, O Lord,” the Bursar expressed appreciation to God for preserving everyone. Drawing inspiration from Psalm 32:8, he urged staff to seek divine guidance, saying, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go.” He encouraged the team to embrace God’s teachings and prioritise collective learning and knowledge-sharing while avoiding reliance solely on personal understanding.
Highlighting the value of God’s word, Mr. Osinuga cited Psalm 19:10 and Proverbs 3:5-6, emphasising the need for trust and faith in divine wisdom. He also acknowledged the unwavering support of the staff in previous years and solicited their continued dedication and cooperation in the new year.
Earlier in his Opening Remarks, Mr. Kazeem Alabi, a Chief Accountant, underscored the importance of showing gratitude to God for His steadfast support and mercies.
The prayer session was led by key officers of the Bursary: Mr. Valentine Egbuna, Deputy Bursar (Budget Implementation and Control), prayed for the Bursary Unit; Mr. Azeez Wahab, Deputy Bursar (PG School), prayed for the University; and Mrs. Adejoke Kolawole, Deputy Bursar (Reconciliation), prayed for Nigeria and the global community.
The event also featured discussions on the Department’s work ethics, office infrastructure, and tools, as well as reports from sub-units. It was well-attended by Deputy Bursars and staff from various sub-units, setting a purposeful tone for the new year.
