STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONS
The head of the Bursary Department is the Bursar. As the Chief Financial Officer of the University, he is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.
The Bursary Department is made up of the Bursar’s Office, the Treasury Division, the expenditure Control Division, the Final Accounts and Statistics Division and College Account Division.
The Department has been structured to address the various functions associated with the components of financial managements as follows:
(i) Annual Estimates
(ii) Budgets and Budgetary Control
(iii) Accounts and Accounting Records
(iv) Receipt and accounting for the income of the University
(v) Payments of staff and third parties
(vi) Banking
(vii) Insurance
(viii) Fund Management
(ix) Preparation of Annual Final Accounts for External Audit.
