The Call
All Academic and Non-Teaching Staff are hereby invited to compete for the 2014 Conference Attendance Grants.
Purpose
The Grant will support the staff of the University who wants to attend Overseas Meetings/Conferences/Workshops of short duration, in areas that is relevant to their employment.
Condition
While application does not guarantee approval, applicants will be expected to agree with the final decision of the University Staff Development Committee who is administering the grant.
Applicants must ensure that the Conferences will be coming up about five months to the time of application (i.e June, 2015). Priority will be given to staff with acceptable letter of invitation and conferences that is of direct relevance to the area of competence of the applicant. Staff who have not enjoyed or benefited at all from the grant will be given preference.
Method of Application
Applicants seeking TETFund grant for Conference Attendance shall fill a prescribed form (see your HODs and HOUs for collection of the forms) and provide the following documents:
i. Letter of Invitation
ii Letter of Acceptance and Abstract of paper to be presented (if any)
iii. Conference Announcement indicating the following:
– Address of Venue
– Name(s) of Contact Person(s)
– Phone numbers of contact person(s)
– E-mail address
– Cost of registration
– Cost of return flight ticket
– Cost of accommodation
– Cost of feeding
– Cost of excursion (if any)
The applications should be forwarded to the Director, CENIP not later than thirty (30) working days from the date of this memo (i.e. February 27, 2015).
