In a bid to equip graduating students with practical skills for the job market and entrepreneurial endeavours, the Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CENTS) in collaboration with Top Fruits Multi-Services located on Abiola Way, Abeokuta recently organised a Training Session tailored for final-year students. Specifically targeting 400-Level students of Nutrition and Dietetics (NUD), College of Food Science and Human Ecology (COLFHEC), the initiative aimed to foster the development of competencies necessary for operating Smoothie Enterprises among budding entrepreneurs.

Addressing the students at the event, the Director, CENTS, Prof. Emily Ayo John underscored the importance of such training in preparing students for life after graduation. “Our goal is to empower students with the requisite skills and knowledge to venture into the world of entrepreneurship confidently,” she stated.

The Centre facilitated Hands-on Training for the participating students that included practical demonstrations and guidance on creating three distinct smoothie recipes which were Pineapple, Orange, and Banana smoothie, as well as Pawpaw, Apple, and Watermelon with a hint of ginger, including Pineapple and Beetroot smoothie.

In his speech, the Head, Business Development and Training at Top Fruits Multi-Services, Mr. Dimeji Balogun elaborated on the nutritional benefits of smoothies, stating its role in providing a diverse array of nutrients, promoting digestive health, enhancing energy levels and cognitive function, and aiding in weight management.

Expressing their gratitude for the valuable Training provided by CENTS, students hailed the initiative as instrumental in their journey towards self-employment and professional growth.

Among the notable figures present at the event were the Coordinator, CENTS, Dr. Oladele Oladeji and the Principal Assistant Registrar, CENTS, Dr. Foluso Arowojolu.

Others were Mr. Abiodun Rosanwo, Mr. Olajide Olaiya, Ms. Dorcas Adeyemi of Top Fruits Multi-Services, and the participating students.

Meanwhile, as FUNAAB continue to prioritise holistic student development, initiatives like these serve as exemplary models for fostering entrepreneurship and preparing its graduates for success beyond the confines of the classroom.
