The contractor handling the UNAAB Ceremonial Road, Oriental Femab Amimike (OFA) Quarry and Construction Company Limited has set February 5, 2011 as the possible date of delivery of the tarred road to the University.

Speaking with the UNAAB Bulletin Crew, a Site Engineer of the company, Engineer Babatunde Sumonu stated that the company had reached the final stage of the construction work with the laying of Laterite sub-base on the road.

Engr. Sumonu noted that after laying the stone base, which has been heaped on site, the final surface, Asphalt, will then be laid.

He also stated that the company had decided to prepare their stone base on the site, instead of transporting them from outside, to speed-up the pace of work.Engr. Sumonu, however, apologized to members of the University community for the temporary inconveniencies they faced with the dust on the road, with a promise that efforts would be intensified at ensuring that the road was always sprayed with water to keep them wet and reduce dust intensity.
