Dr. Mopelola Idowu, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, has won the Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future 2014-2015 Fellowship. She was picked for the award following a competitive selection process, out of which a total of 84 new grants were awarded from 558 applications received. By the award, she is now a Schlumberger Foundation Fellow, comprising 405 other women pursuing scientific research from 68 countries.

Dr. Idowu, a specialist in Physical Chemistry, said with the Fellowship, she is expected to carry out a research at the University of Michigan, United States of America, to develop Multi-Chromo Phone System, as a candidate material for harvesting solar energy. She added that the offer would go a long way in furthering skills, collaboration, linkages and partnership between FUNAAB and foreign Universities for the benefit of members of staff and students.
