The Senate of the University has approved the commencement of the 2019/2020 Academic Session on Monday, January 11, 2021 with Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) training, orientation programmes for fresh students as well as registration and VLE training for returning students, which would be completed on Friday, January 22, 2021. The session would come to an end on Thursday, September 9, 2021.

According to the Registrar, Dr. ‘Bola Adekola, the Senate also approved that lectures would be delivered through tailored-virtual platforms, to control the spread of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while the training of academic staff on the use of appropriate platforms for virtual learning and teaching of students would be done in line with new realities. The Registrar added that the new development was premised on the challenging circumstances facing the world through COVID-19 and its attendant effects on crowd management, social distancing and the need to maintain the non-pharmaceutical protocols in controlling the spread of the disease.

Dr. Adekola stated further that the University Management had adopted two virtual solutions, namely: Google Classroom and Loom for the commencement of the online teaching for all academic staff, between Tuesday, January 12 and Friday, January 15, 2021 with the aim of training them for both solutions and instructional guides on how to use the platforms.
