Rising from their victories, the newly-elected representatives of Congregation on the University’s Governing Council, Professor O. A. Enikuomehin and Dr. Olusola Akinwande, have revealed in concrete terms, what members of the University community and the constituencies they represent in particular, should expect of them in the Council.
Bearing his mind moments after his election, Professor Enikuomehin in his Acceptance Speech, declared that the Council “is not a market place, but a place of serious business, therefore, I know what it entails”.
Professor Enikuomehin stressed that with God on his side, he would give the Congregation adequate representation to underscore the large support given to him at the poll.
He thanked members of Congregation for their persistence and for reposing great confidence in him.
Speaking in the same vein, Dr. Akinwande declared that “I am not going to Council to throw punches, but to ensure that things are done the right way”.
Akinwande, who dedicated his victory to Congregation, said “at the end of the election, there was no victor, no vanquish”.
