COVID-19 PANDEMIC: FUNAAB Tackles Fresh Wave Harder – Produces more hand sanitizers… After Fumigation

The Biotechnology Centre, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has commenced production of another batch of FUNAAB Hand sanitizers in response to the new wave of COVID-19.

In a release signed by the Director of the Centre, Prof. Akinola Popoola, the hand sanitizers are alcohol-based, non-gel and easily sprayable formulae that emerged from protocol optimization of the routine molecular biology  technique of  RNA deactivation.

            He revealed that the products have enjoyed large patronage by staff and students of the University, as well as religious organization within the University Community. He disclosed that their current effort is aimed at producing 280 litres of the hand sanitizers to be dispensed in bottles of 500 ml, 250 ml and 100 ml sizes. Prof. Popoola, encouraged all members of the University Community to purchase theirs at the FUNAAB Universal Conservices Limited (FUCONS).
