OYELAKIN Olufemi Oladimeji, PhD is a Research Fellow in Biotechnology Centre, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria. His area of Research is Plant Genetics. He is a native of Ibadan from Eshinoye Compound, Oke-Offa, Baba Isale in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He was born July 03, 1970. He obtained his Post Graduate Diploma PGD from Federal University of Technology, Akure in 2004, also his Masters and PhD degrees in 2009 and 2014 respectively from Olabisi Onabanjo University. He started his research career from International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, IITA, Ibadan Oyo State, Nigeria in 1994 as a Research Technician in Biotechnology Unit and rose to Research Associate/Laboratory Manager of the same unit in 2008, he was on the post for two years. His research work has included improving various IITA mandate crops like Cassava, Yam, Cowpea, Maize, Rice, Soybean and many more. In September 2010, He left for the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) where he trained the staff of the centre and students of the university some basic Molecular Biology techniques. In conjunction with the Director, we organized various trainings on Molecular Biology techniques for students within and outside the university. He conducted training for staff and students of Federal university of Technology Akure on Biotechnology and Bio-safety in 2013. He is the scientist in charge of the Tissue Culture laboratory of the centre.
