The Directorate of University Farms (DUFARMS), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), on August 22, 2025, rolled out the drums in honour of four retired staff members at a colourful send-forth party held at the DUFARMS Hall. The event was organised to appreciate their years of meritorious service and immense contributions to the Directorate’s growth and success.
The retirees celebrated were: Mr. Nurudeen Maku (Livestock Commercial and Innovation Unit), Mr. Sule Yedo (Tractors Unit), Mr. Lateef Mukaila (Livestock Teaching and Research Unit), and Mr. Johnson Olamokun (Farm Mechanisation, Tractor Unit).
In his remarks, the Ag. Director of DUFARMS, Dr. Emmanuel Bankole, warmly welcomed guests and paid glowing tributes to the honourees for their unwavering dedication, professionalism, and hard work. He described them as exemplary figures whose contributions have left indelible marks on the Directorate, while wishing them a peaceful and rewarding retirement.
The ceremony featured heartfelt Goodwill Messages from colleagues, who shared fond memories and commended the retirees’ selfless service. Gifts were presented to the honourees amid an atmosphere of joy and celebration.
Dignitaries present included Mr. Lateef Solarin, Head of Crops; Mr. Olufemi Adesanya, Head of Teaching and Research Unit; Mr. Ibrahim Oguntusi, Head of Commercial and Innovation; Mrs. Olanike Oyenekan, Chairperson, DUFARMS Welfare Committee, and Mr. Augustine Kuforiji, Head of Fishery and Commercial Unit.
