As part of efforts to foster open communication and enhance service delivery in line with the University’s Core Values, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has established a platform for student engagement with Management. In continuation of this initiative, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, on March 12, 2025, hosted the second interactive session with student representatives at the Green Chamber.
In his Opening Remarks, Prof. Akinyemi warmly welcomed the students and reaffirmed the University Administration’s commitment to strengthening the relationship between Management and the student body. He noted that the interactive session was designed to ensure students remain well-informed while prioritising their welfare and academic success.
Moderating the session, the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Festus Adeosun commended the impressive turnout, which included Heads of Classes (HOCs) from various Departments, representatives of Postgraduate students, Hall Executives, and Student Union Executives. He encouraged them to seize the opportunity to articulate their concerns and suggestions confidently.
During the session, students expressed appreciation for the University Management’s responsiveness, particularly regarding key concerns raised in the previous meeting. These included the introduction of an instalment payment policy for school fees, improved electricity supply through solar energy, upgraded sports facilities, and enhanced service delivery at the University Health Centre.
