The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, Prof. Kola Adebayo, has applauded staff members of FUNAAB Radio 89.5FM for their professionalism and excellence, as well as their unwavering dedication, resilience, and commitment to advancing the station and the University’s overall mission.
Prof. Adebayo, also the Chairman of the station’s Management Board gave this commendation during an official visit to the radio station, where he acknowledged the staff’s hard work and encouraged them to contribute even more to the University’s growth. He particularly commended the Coordinator of the radio station, Dr. Adewale Kupoluyi, for his passion and dedication to refurbishing the station, affirming that the University Management was fully committed to supporting the effort.
He assured the station of continued institutional support while encouraging the team to explore avenues for increasing Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and strengthening farm broadcasts. Addressing concerns about power supply, he revealed that FUNAAB’s 3MW Hybrid Solar station solar farm was being test-run and would soon be fully operational, which would help the radio station function without power interruptions.
Accompanied by the Deputy Registrar II, in his office, Mrs. Folasade Giwa, the DVC, Development, emphasised the administration’s interest in making the station more productive and impactful.
In his response, Dr. Kupoluyi expressed gratitude to the University Management for its unwavering support, noting that the staff at the station were dedicated, competent, and fully compliant with the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) code governing campus radio operations.
Dr. Kupoluyi further announced that FUNAAB Radio was recently designated as a Chapel by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Chapter, recognising it as a full-fledged media organisation. He reaffirmed the station’s commitment to forging strategic partnerships and collaborations that would enhance its operations while positively projecting the image of FUNAAB.
