ENACTUS Nigeria Honours VC with Excellence Award

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has been honoured with the Award of Excellence in University Administration & Governance by ENACTUS Nigeria.

The award, which recognises the Vice-Chancellor’s unwavering commitment to student empowerment and practical learning, was presented today, February 10, 2025, during the Opening Ceremony of a Two-Day Capacity Building Training held at the Green Chamber.

Expressing his gratitude, Prof. Kehinde reaffirmed FUNAAB’s dedication to equipping students with both academic knowledge and hands-on skills essential for success in today’s competitive world. He encouraged the students to embrace experiential learning, leverage growth opportunities, and remain committed to their personal and professional development.

Speaking further, Prof. Kehinde lauded the impact of the ENACTUS Programme in shaping future leaders, citing success stories of FUNAAB alumni who have excelled beyond their academic fields due to resilience, competence, and hands-on experience. He reassured the students of the University’s continued support for ENACTUS and other initiatives that promote entrepreneurship and leadership development.

While presenting the Vice-Chancellor with the award, the Programme Manager, ENACTUS Nigeria, Miss Toluwalase David-Oluwole, commended Prof. Kehinde’s consistent support for student-led initiatives. She highlighted his encouragement as a major factor in the success of the ENACTUS FUNAAB Team, emphasising the crucial role of institutional backing in fostering innovation and leadership among students.

Earlier, during a Courtesy Visit by the ENACTUS Team, the Vice-Chancellor appreciated their dedication to sustaining the programme at FUNAAB, expressing delight over its continued success and reaffirming the University’s commitment to providing strategic support for student-driven projects.

The ENACTUS Faculty Advisor and former Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CENTS), Prof. Babatunde Adewunmi, also appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for his unwavering support and hospitality.

Present at the event were Faculty Advisor II, Dr. Ola-Olusegun Oyedele; Team Lead, Enactus-FUNAAB, Miss Aanuoluwapo Adewole, and several other members.

With a strong emphasis on mentorship, experiential learning, and institutional support, the Opening Ceremony underscored the vital role of hands-on education in preparing students for real-world challenges.
