Dr. O. R. Adetunji graduated from University of Ife, Ile-Ife, Nigeria in 1987 with first class honors degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering. He proceeded for his Master degree in the same department after a year of mandatory National Youth Service. He obtained Master’s degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering in 1991. He joined Engineering Company in 1991. He got registered as professional engineer with Council of Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He later came back to academic and research work in 2008 after gaining employment as lecturer II in the department of Mechanical Engineering of University of Agriculture, Abeokuta Nigeria. He was promoted to Lecturer I in 2011. He was awarded Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering in October, 2012 by the Senate of Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. His research interests include; Corrosion Engineering, Novel Materials and Machinery Development, Renewable Energy and Nanotechnology.
He has supervised over fifteen undergraduate students, eleven post graduate diploma and five master students. He has worn National recognition such as Postgraduate Scholarship Award of Federal Government of Nigeria and fellowship of the Science and Technology Education Post Basic (Step B) Project. As a chartered engineer, he has developed a lot of machineries including a Cassava grater, Gari sieving machine, maize Sheller and paint mixer.
