Entomological Society Honours VC, Others

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde has been honoured by the  Entomological Society of Nigeria at the Society’s 52nd Annual Scientific Conference, recently held at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye.

The immediate Past Vice-Chancellor, GVU, Prof. Babatunde Idowu being assisted by his wife, Prof. Olufunmilayo Idowu to receive the Award from the Society’s President, Prof. Rabiu Adamu.

The Award recognised Prof. Kehinde’s significant support to the Conference and his outstanding academic leadership. The Vice-Chancellor was represented by the Director, Institute of Human Resources Development (INHURD), Prof. Oladele Talabi at the event.

Other FUNAAB Dons that were honoured at the event were the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Glorious Vision University (GVU), Ogwa, Edo State, Prof. Babatunde Idowu of the Department of Pure and Applied Zoology, College of BioSciences (COLBIOS), he was invested as a Fellow of the Society and received an Award of Honour for his support at the Conference.

In the same vein, the Executive Director of the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI), Prof. Lateef Sanni, was also honoured during the event. Prof. Sanni who was a former Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, FUNAAB, delivered the keynote address at the occasion.

Meanwhile, Prof. Adebola Osipitan of the Department of Crop Protection, College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COLPLANT), was elected as the Editor-in-Chief of the Nigerian Journal of Entomology (NJE) at the Conference.
