Officials of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation have visited the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), to explore avenues for upgrading the campus water supply system.

The visit, held on November 11, 2024, took place at the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Kola Adebayo, who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde.

In his Address, the Vice-Chancellor underscored the importance of the visit, noting that it aimed to assess the current water infrastructure and evaluate the feasibility of reticulating water from the University Dam to serve the entire campus community.

Engr. Kehinde Bamisile, Director, Directorate of Physical Planning, elaborated on the objective of the visit, stating that what began as a simple request had evolved into a comprehensive inspection of the University’s water supply system. During the visit, the Team inspected the University Dam, Water Treatment Plant, Tank Filters, Chemical Dosing Tanks for lime and chlorine, as well as an Aeration Tank.

Notable attendees included the Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi; Principal Assistant Registrar, DVCD’s Office, Mrs. Folasade Giwa, and Engr. Olalekan Famakinwa from the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, among others.
