In a strategic effort to boost agricultural development in Nigerian universities, the Federal Government, in collaboration with Keystone Bank, is set to launch an Agricultural Grants Initiative at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
The initiative, driven by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development under the Youth Economic Intervention and De-radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP), was formally introduced today, April 8, 2025, during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde.
Welcoming the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor described the initiative as both timely and crucial in revitalising Nigeria’s agricultural sector through youth empowerment. He reaffirmed FUNAAB’s commitment to agricultural innovation, noting the University’s strong legacy in research and community-based agricultural development as a solid foundation for the success of the programme.
Highpoint was a slide presentation on the initiative from the Management of the Bank.
