The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has been chosen for the pilot scheme of the Nigerian Universities Electronic Teaching and Learning Platform.
The announcement of the choice of FUNAAB as one of the 12 universities selected for the pilot scheme, was disclosed to newsmen at the end of the Federal Executive Council meeting, held last week.
Implementing the scheme, the Federal Government, through the National Universities Commission (NUC), is expected to launch series of projects on ICT-enabled teaching and learning platforms in Nigerian universities.
Under the NUELP project, NUC will deploy the necessary equipment to support ICT-enabled teaching and learning platforms in the 12 universities, which will include a number of interactive whiteboards TPS-8120, audio-visual teaching aids and clipart resources, among others.
FUNAAB was picked among 12 Nigerian universities, comprising of two (one Federal and one State) universities, from each of the nation’s six-geopolitical zones.
