The Farm Practical Year (FPY) students of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), under the Centre for Community-Based Farming Scheme (COBFAS), commenced the large-scale harvest of vegetables cultivated earlier in October.

The initiative, which kicked off on October 7, 2024, utilised 4.2 hectares of farmland for the cultivation of popular leafy vegetables, including Ewedu (Corchorus), Ṣọkọ (Celosia), and Tẹtẹ (Amaranthus). Each FPY student was allocated a 4m by 5m plot to ensure hands-on learning and practical farming experience.

The project was supervised by a dedicated team from COBFAS, comprising Mr. Olugbenga Alayode, Mr. Taiwo Semighan, and Mr. Olawale Shittu, who have continued to provide expert guidance to the students. The harvest marked another significant milestone in FUNAAB’s commitment to blending academic knowledge with practical agricultural training.
