Worthy of mentioning was the commitment of top staff of the University, particularly members of the organizing committee, at the just-concluded Pre-NUGA.

The commitment, well-laced with their die-hard love for sports, was obviously electrifying and motivating, going by the way they rallied support towards the success of the Games.

Check them out, the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Chryss Onwuka adorned sports suits throughout the games. At several points, CFI, as he is fondly called, explored and deplored sports’ technical verbiage during his interactions with officials of the Games.

His Development counterpart, Prof. Segun Lagoke was not found wanting either. He looked sportish for major parts of the Games. He also visited some UNAAB athletes before their matches while he watched some of the Games.

Also, the Acting Registrar, Mr. ‘Leke Adeboye, a good goalkeeper during his days at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, accompanied by the Assistant Director/Head, Public Relations, Mr. ‘Lasun Somoye, gave the UNAAB football team some pep talks at the interval of the match with the Lagos State University (LASU).

Trust the no-nonsense Prof. Christian Ikeobi. He was in his best at the just-concluded Pre-NUGA Games as the Chairman of the Accreditation Committee. His eagle eyes were so probing and catchy, of suspicious moves to cheat, such that sports officials of some participating Universities became uncomfortable with his painstaking commitment to honesty and transparency.

Dr. Sam-Wobo and others members, effectively demonstrated how to be perfect hosts, all along the Games.
