… Donates 4M to University
In a commendable show of loyalty and commitment to the growth of their alma mater, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Alumni Association has donated the sum of Four Million Naira to the University in support of ongoing development efforts.
The gesture was part of a high-level Courtesy Visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, on May 22, 2025, led by the Global President of the Association, Mr. Bolaji Gbadamosi.
During the visit, the Alumni Team expressed deep appreciation to the University Management for the generous allocation of 2,023 acres of farmland for the Alumni Farm Hub project, an ambitious agribusiness initiative designed to harness alumni expertise, enhance the agricultural revitalisation efforts of the Vice-Chancellor, and advance the University’s mandate.
According to the Global President, the farmland has already been fully allocated to members and corporate settlers under the Alumni Farm Hub scheme, with a request for additional land already submitted. The initiative, he noted, was aimed at establishing a first-class, self-sustaining agricultural hub that would serve as a reference point across Africa.
“We are committed to developing a model Farm Hub that leverages modern agricultural practices and technology, showcasing the capacity of our members as true products of a University ranked as the best in Africa in its category,” he said.
He also reiterated the Association’s readiness to bring industry expertise and technical support into the partnership, adding that the Alumni were eager to explore more collaborative opportunities that would elevate the University’s standing and actualise its vision.
In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kehinde commended the Alumni Association for their forward-thinking initiative and generous contribution, describing the partnership as a strategic step towards fulfilling the University’s core mandate in agricultural innovation and community development.
He assured the Association of Management’s continued support and commitment to fostering an enabling environment for sustainable partnerships.
