FUNAAB Alumnus Endows University

An Alumnus of the University and currently a United States Naval Officer, Mr. Victor Agunbiade has pledged to endow 2 students of the University with an annual scholarship of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000.00) only.

                Mr. Agunbiade, who made this known during a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor said the scholarship would be perpetual and would be awarded to the best students in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management (AE & FM) as well as the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics.

The top US Naval Officer disclosed that his family was desirous of supporting the University through the donation of books, computer systems and equipment that will aid teaching and learning process.

While thanking the University for preparing him during his degree years, Mr. Agunbiade revealed that he was able to complete his MBA in Economics in the United States within 23 months because FUNAAB made his path smooth through a solid foundation.

                He expressed his appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and other Management team for the beautiful, peaceful, serene and conducive academic atmosphere, which to him has led to the unprecedented infrastructural development of the institution. He added that he would go back to the United States with a positive rating of the University.

                In his remark, the Vice-Chancellor welcomed the Agunbiades to the University, intimating them on developments in the institution, particularly the Community Based Farming Scheme (COBFAS) initiative recently introduced.

                Represented by the immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Bolanle Akeredolu-Ale, the Vice-Chancellor lauded Mr. Agunbiade’s heart for giving back to his former school and enjoined other alumni to emulate such gesture.

                Present at the Courtesy call were the Registrar, Dr. ‘Bola Adekola, Head of Advancement, Mr. Johnson Olukehinde, Principal Assistant, Registrar (VCO), Mrs. Folasade Giwa, among others.
