FUNAAB, Assetrise Expand 100ha Yam Plantation on Campus

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), in partnership with Assetrise, has commenced the expansion of the yam plantation situated on a 100-hectare plot of land within the University campus.

In mid-July, yams were transplanted from the nursery to a prepared section of the land, while the remaining area was also cleared on August 7, 2024, to pave the way for the expansion.

The next phase, which involved ploughing, harrowing, and ridge formation, would begin shortly.

Additionally, the construction of the Labour Line has also started to support farm staff involved in the project.
