The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has again proved its mettle in the international scene by emerging as the only Nigerian University that provided two out of the four selected candidates from Africa at the just concluded Inaugural Students Congress hosted by the 2011 World Materials Summit.
The Summit which took place at the Keck Centre of the National Academic and L’Enfant Plaza Hotel, Washington D.C. from October 7-12, 2011, was a programme for active graduate students and post-doctoral scholars in fields related to energy, environmental science, medicine, engineering and policy.

Among the 50 participants, two of them were from FUNAAB, while the University was the only institution that produced two candidates in the whole world, with two among the four African representatives.

According to the report by a FUNAAB representative, Dr. (Mrs.) Janet Bamgbose, 50 participants were selected from around the world, cutting
across eminent next generation Scientists, Engineers and leaders, to work alongside today’s energy experts.
