The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), on December 15, 2025, commenced a Two-Day Capacity-Building Training for its staff on the operation and management of computerised greenhouse systems, as part of efforts to strengthen modern agricultural practices within the University.

The training, held at the University’s Research Greenhouse facility, was designed to equip trainees with hands-on skills in the use of computerised technologies for efficient vegetable production and cutting-edge agricultural research.

Speaking on the initiative, the Project Coordinator, Prof. Isaac Aiyelaagbe, explained that the training aims to enhance staff competence, promote innovation, and ensure the optimal utilisation of the Research Greenhouse donated by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

Prof. Aiyelaagbe added that the facility is expected to function as a hub for training, research, and income generation, with proceeds channelled towards its maintenance and sustainable operation. The training continues today.
