The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole has restated the determination of the current administration in making the University a world-class institution.
The Vice-Chancellor stated this during an interview he granted Tribune titles, publishers of the Nigerian Tribune Newspapers.
Professor Oyewole reiterated his commitment to excellence even as he paid glowing tributes to his predecessors, pointing out that “we are building on what they have established”.
Making case for more collaboration outside the country, the Vice-Chancellor said, “We don’t want to be local champion as we can’t call ourselves University; if we can’t promote the Universality in it”.
“FUNAAB will no longer remain a local University; FUNAAB will contribute to Africa and Nigeria’s development. FUNAAB will continue to contribute to capacity building in the areas of Agriculture, in the areas of science and in the areas of technology”.
He, however, solicited for more support from the government to make the University a house of ideas in driving the nation’s development.
