FUNAAB Commences ADEPTI Programme for Staff to Strengthen Administrative Capacity

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), on December 1, 2025, commenced the weeklong Advanced Digital Empowerment Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADEPTI), a capacity-building initiative designed to enhance staff competence, administrative efficiency, and overall institutional performance.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Olawale Dairo, commended the organisers for sustaining a platform that supports continuous staff development. He noted that programmes such as ADEPTI remain central to strengthening the University’s workforce, improving productivity, and aligning FUNAAB with global best practices in institutional governance.

Declaring the programme open, the Vice-Chancellor urged participants to take full advantage of the training and remain attentive throughout the sessions.

Earlier, the Director, Directorate of Academic Planning (DAP), Prof. Olajide Sogunle, welcomed participants drawn from various Units, Departments, and Colleges across the University. He stated that the training was structured to deepen professional competence, introduce best administrative practices, and promote the use of modern, technology-driven tools for improved service delivery.

Also speaking, the Coordinator of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Mr. Adesoji Fagbemi, reaffirmed FUNAAB’s commitment to building a skilled, innovative, and dynamic workforce capable of advancing the University’s strategic mandate. He disclosed that the programme was fully funded by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), adding that ADEPTI was designed to enhance participants’ understanding and utilisation of emerging digital tools and Microsoft Office applications. He further explained that the training would assist staff in automating and simplifying office and academic tasks while applying essential cybersecurity principles.

Meanwhile, the programme continues today and is expected to conclude on Friday, December 5, 2025.
