The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has commenced its First Semester Examinations for the 2024/2025 Academic Session, with the Management assuring of a seamless and efficient process for students and staff.
In interviews conducted at various examination venues, key officials shared insights into the extensive preparations undertaken by the University.
Speaking to FUNAAB Bulletin, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, highlighted the University’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for academic success.
“We have made significant improvements to facilities, including lecture halls and Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, to provide a conducive environment for the examinations. Additionally, we have ensured that all relevant rules and regulations are widely distributed to students to eliminate any claims of ignorance,” Prof. Akinyemi revealed.
The DVC, Academic further noted that safety measures had been enhanced, with ambulances on standby to address emergencies promptly.
In a separate chat with the Dean, Student Affairs Unit, Prof. Festus Adeosun, explained the steps taken to ensure students were adequately informed.
“We have thoroughly sensitised students on examination protocols, including dress codes and acceptable behaviour. Special arrangements are also in place for students with specific needs, and we have assigned dedicated staff to support them during the examinations,” he explained.
At another venue, Prof. Pius Dada, Chairman of the Timetable and Examinations Committee (TIMTEC), detailed the preparation of the examination schedule.
“The timetable was finalised six weeks before the examinations and shared with students to allow for feedback. Additionally, our collaboration with the Information and Communication Technology Resource Centre (ICTREC) ensured that all stakeholders received timely updates,” Engr. Dada stated.
Speaking with the Bulletin crew at the 1,000 Seater Lecture Theatre, the Director, Works and Services, Engr. Funsho Ipadeola, commended the Management for investing in infrastructure and equipment upgrades, describing these efforts as critical to fostering a conducive examination environment.
Students interviewed expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, citing the serene atmosphere of the halls and the availability of necessary facilities.
As the examinations progress, Management has reiterated its call for students to adhere strictly to the guidelines, reaffirming its commitment to overseeing a smooth and successful examination period.
