The FUNAAB Farmers’ Cooperative Multipurpose Society Limited has commenced the harvest of maize from its 6-hectare farmland located within the University campus. The initiative, which enjoys the full backing of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, underscores the University’s commitment to sustainable agriculture and food security.

Harvest operations are currently ongoing on 5 out of the 6 hectares cultivated. Sales officially kicked off on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the SSANU Shopping Complex and other designated points on campus. The fresh maize has already attracted significant attention from market women, traders, and members of the University Community, reflecting a strong market response.

The project was part of the Cooperative’s broader efforts to enhance local food production, empower its members, and contribute to community well-being.

Sales continue today by noon at the SSANU Shopping Complex.
